Describe the time
you were most glad that you were wearing your helmet.
I was upside down mid-air and heading face first for a big knuckle of rock. Well I guess it was after I bounced off it and finished the rapid smiling that I was most happy about my helmet.

respect the most? Who is your hero?
My Parents.

team do you most admire and why?
Gotta go with Holcombe on that one. Smooth, powerful, and consistent the way I'd like to paddle

shows, etc are you into right now?
Books by Milan Kundera, Edward Abbey, and Ken Kesey right now. Haven't seen many movies or TV shows lately, though a little Family Guy never hurt anybody
What are you listening
to these days?
These days.....mostly reggae and some others like m.ward, Spoon, and Interpol
What was the best
concert you attended?
The Faint in Portland at the Roseland Theater 2005.
What are some things
that motivate you?
I get motivated when I look at a map of the world and see the few places I have been and all the places I want to go. I always think of the future's possibilities to keep motivated
What sports do you
enjoy watching or participating in besides your main sport?
Mtn biking, climbing, snowboarding
What’s the most
fun you’ve ever had while participating in your sport?
Every day paddling with my best friends in amazing places. Cliche but true.
Also, the Little White Salmon always puts a smile on my face.
What’s
the best trip you’ve ever been on?
Chile/Argentina trip 2007 takes it. Months of great paddling and exploring new cultures and rivers.
What goals are you
working towards right now?
Working toward a nursing degree, but right now paddling as much as possible and getting ready for a big trip this fall to somewhere in Asia.

your life, how would you like to be remembered?
As someone who gave more than took and inspired people to go further than they thought they could
What do you view as
your biggest accomplishment?
Not following the prescribed path and taking chances that have really paid off in the short and hopefully long term
