Name: Pat Keller

Birthday: 6/6/86

Home: Asheville, NC

Favorite Shred Ready helmet and color: Shaggy with my Teva Logos or the new Phly

Describe the time you were most glad that you were wearing your helmet. When I was portaging a sieve pile on Mosley Creek in British Columbia and I slipped off a log and fell about six feet backwards. The back of my head was the first thing to strike rock and I splashed into an ice cold pool. I only felt a little dizzy! If I wasnt wearing my Shaggy it could've been so much worse.

What person do you respect the most? Who is your hero? Respect: my dad...hero: Daniel DeLaVergne and Scott Lindgren

Who on the Shred Ready team do you most admire and why? Daniel DeLaVergne...cause he was the man...enough said.

What movies/books/comics/TV shows, etc are you into right now? Im big into...Shows: Family GUy, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken. Books: Everest...Alone at the Summit, Never Turn Back, Hell or High Water, Into Thin Air. Movies: 9/21 BC, Touching the Void, The Collective (mountain bike movie), Burning Time, LVM #18

What are you listening to these days? 10 Years, Adema, Flaw, Seether, Sevendust, Breaking Benjamin, Dr. Dre

What was the best concert you attended? Toubab Krewe here in Asheville

What are some things that motivate you? the unknown horizon line around the next bend, the (as of yet) unseen mountains and gorge, the ultimate rapid and waterfall, the gold medal after the race, the smiles of all my friends

What sports do you enjoy watching or participating in besides your main sport? Mountain biking, skiing, dirtbiking, climbing, hiking, cliff jumping, weight training and i want to go sky diving

What's the most fun you've ever had while participating in your sport? Tough question...id say the day Matt Sheridan, Daniel DeLaVergne, Al G, Jason Hale, Nate Elliot and myself put on the Toxaway richter high water...that day was epic...Or following Daniel down Cherry Creek for our one day attempt...OR running the 40 footer going into La Paz falls in Costa Rica...knowing that i was commited to the 82 footer just downstream... OR rolling over the lip of Toxaway Falls after blowing off the Ranger that was yelling at me not to do it...all good times

What's the best trip you've ever been on? Id say either the first time i drove out to the west coast with Matt Sheridan in 2002...we ran a lot of great whitewater on that trip... Or Italy in 04 for the Val Sesia Mountain Games.

What goals are you working towards right now? Running as much great whitewater as i can with the time that was given me, placing first in at least three of the races i compete in this year and having a great time.

When people look at your life, how would you like to be remembered? Courageous, charger, like Daniel, down to earth, smart about safety, not afraid to walk (but dont like to), but most of all i would want people to say 'that kid was an animal'

What do you view as your biggest accomplishment? Toxaway Falls

What advice do you have for other people coming up in your sport? Never quit trying, but know what not to try in the first place...and be prepared for not just the highs, but the lows as well.

One sentence that describes your life: Constant search for the adrenaline induced smile.

Duran Duran, Tear for Fears, Hall and Oates, or Cindy Lauper? Why? Who the heck are they? Im gonna go listen to my 10 years more...if im going old school itd be Metallica or CSNY.

Why are athlete bios always so lame? Gotta be way ahead of the curve to think of the questions that havent been asked before...
